The deep learning model used in this study is a Convolutional Neural Network-Long Short Term Memory (CNN-LSTM) architecture. They recruited 20 adult subjects who participated in a study where they performed the eight gestures on the sensor. The data collected from these interactions was then used to train and test the CNN-LSTM model. The researchers compared the model’s accuracy in classifying the gestures using data from three sources: the skin-like sensor alone, the load cell (a sensor that measures force) alone, and a combination of both.
